This Privacy Policy explains how Simplifi Courses ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit or make a booking through our website, and sets out your rights under UK data protection law.
We are the "data controller" of your personal data for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
By using our Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Definitions
• Personal Data – any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
• Usage Data – data collected automatically through use of the Service (e.g. IP address, pages visited, time and date of visit).
• Cookies – small files placed on your device that store information about your browsing.
• Service – our website and booking pages.
• Service Provider / Processor – a third party that processes personal data on our behalf.
• You – the individual using the Service.
The personal data we collect
Information you give us:
• Name (first and last)
• Email address
• Billing and contact details when you book a course
• Payment information (processed securely by our payment providers Stripe and GoCardless — we do not store full card details)
• Any information you provide when you contact us or enquire about a course
Information collected automatically (Usage Data):
• IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers
• Pages visited, time and date of visit, time spent on pages
• Referring source (including whether you arrived from a Facebook or Instagram ad)
• Interactions collected via cookies and tracking technologies (see "Cookies and tracking technologies")
How we use your personal data, and our lawful bases
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for each use of your data. Our uses and bases are:
• To process and deliver your course booking and manage your account — performance of a contract.
• To take payment for a booking — performance of a contract.
• To respond to enquiries and provide customer support — legitimate interests, or steps taken prior to entering a contract.
• To send you service and booking-related messages — performance of a contract, or legitimate interests.
• To send marketing about similar courses and offers by email — consent, or the "soft opt-in" for existing customers under PECR.
• To measure and improve our website and advertising, including via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API — consent (for non-essential cookies/tracking).
• To create and use audiences for advertising on Facebook and Instagram, including retargeting and lookalike audiences — consent.
• To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations — legal obligation.
• To protect our rights, prevent fraud and secure our systems — legitimate interests.
You can withdraw consent at any time (see "Your rights" and "Cookies and tracking technologies").
Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (including pixels, tags and beacons) on our website and booking pages. When you first visit, our cookie consent banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies.
We use the following categories:
• Strictly necessary cookies – required for the site and checkout to function (e.g. security, booking). These do not require consent.
• Functional/preference cookies – remember choices you make to improve your experience.
• Analytics cookies – help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
• Advertising/marketing cookies – set by Meta (Facebook/Instagram) via the Meta Pixel to measure our ads, and to build and serve advertising and retargeting audiences. These are only used where you have consented.
You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time via our cookie banner/settings, and you can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
Advertising, the Meta Pixel and Conversions API
We advertise our courses on Facebook and Instagram. To measure and improve those ads we use the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd / Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta").
These tools tell us about actions taken on our site and booking pages (such as viewing a course or completing a booking) and allow us to:
• measure how well our ads perform;
• show relevant ads to people who have visited our site or engaged with us ("retargeting"); and
• build "lookalike" audiences of people similar to our customers.
Where required, this processing relies on your consent (via the cookie banner). We and Meta may act as independent or joint controllers for certain aspects of this processing, as described in Meta's own terms and privacy information.
Your controls: you can manage how your data is used for personalised advertising in your Facebook and Instagram account settings ("Ad preferences"), and you can decline advertising cookies via our cookie banner.
Who we share your data with (our Service Providers)
We share personal data with trusted third parties who process it on our behalf, or who are independent controllers for their part of the service. These currently include:
• Wix – website hosting and infrastructure
• Ticket Tailor – course booking and ticketing (tickets.simplificourses.co.uk)
• GoCardless – payment and Direct Debit processing
• Meta Platforms (Facebook/Instagram) – advertising measurement and audiences (Meta Pixel and Conversions API)
• ActiveCampaign – email marketing and customer relationship management
• Google – business email and related services
We require our processors to protect your data and to use it only as instructed. We may also disclose your data where required by law, to enforce our rights, or in connection with a business sale or reorganisation (we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy).
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some of our providers (including Meta and other US-based services) may process your data outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data is protected to UK standards.
How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including to meet our legal, accounting and reporting obligations, to resolve disputes and to enforce our agreements. Usage Data is generally kept for a shorter period, except where used to improve security or functionality, or where we are legally required to keep it for longer.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Request correction of inaccurate data;
• Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
• Restrict or object to our processing (including objecting to direct marketing at any time);
• Request portability of data you provided to us;
• Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal).

Marketing communications
We will only send you marketing emails where you have consented, or where you are an existing customer and we are contacting you about similar courses under the PECR "soft opt-in" (and did not opt out). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing us.
Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Our Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
Links to other websites
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date, and where changes are significant we will provide a more prominent notice.
